Avondale Golf Club was founded in  1969 and was one of the very first clubs in Palm Desert. Jerry  Hines was the architect of the course and the design is different  that one normally find the desert. It a more traditional tree lines course  which can be a challenging course. Avondale is not as well known as  other courses in Palm Desert. The property consist 305 of stately large custom homes to affordable condos and smaller single family homes. Residents of other areas join Avondale due to the reasonable cost of joining. Avondale Country Club is a guard gated community and has a very desirable location on the corner of Country Club Drive and El Dorado. The HOA fees are low and Avondale is covered by the Imperial Irrigation district who offers lower electric rates.
